Welcome to Yali. Yali is a community-driven platform that allows people to post, discover, give away, and sell items locally with a focus on fast, time-based visibility.
By creating an account, verifying your phone number, accessing Yali, posting content, or continuing to use the service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
Who may use Yali
You may use Yali only if you are legally allowed to do so, are 18 years of age or older, provide reasonably accurate information, and use the platform for lawful purposes only.
Yali may restrict, suspend, or request verification for accounts that appear to violate these conditions.
Nature of the Yali service
Yali is a listing and discovery platform. Yali is not a seller, buyer, broker, delivery provider, escrow provider, or guarantor of transactions.
Yali does not guarantee item authenticity, safety, legality, listing accuracy, user behavior, or successful transactions.
Core platform model
Yali operates on a free-to-post and paid-visibility model. Posting is free. Posts are time-limited and may expire automatically.
Optional paid boosts may increase how often or how prominently a post is shown. Boosts do not guarantee views, messages, responses, sales, giveaways, or exchanges.
Account and verification
Yali may require OTP or other verification before allowing key actions. You are responsible for your account security and all activity under your account.
You must not impersonate others, create misleading accounts, share OTPs, or bypass platform protections.
Your posts and responsibilities
You are fully responsible for your post content, including title, description, images, category, item details, location details, and contact information.
You agree that your content is lawful, reasonably accurate, represents the actual item, and does not violate the privacy or rights of others.
Image standards
Images must clearly show the actual item and must not be misleading, unrelated, deceptive, sexualized, shocking, or used only to attract attention.
Prohibited content and conduct
You must not post or engage in unlawful, harmful, deceptive, unsafe, or abusive activity.
- stolen goods, illegal drugs, prohibited weapons, counterfeit items, or forged documents
- nudity, sexual content, exploitative imagery, violent content, hate speech, harassment, or threats
- fake listings, scams, misleading descriptions, fake urgency, spam, or repeated low-quality posts
- posting another person’s private information without permission
- bots, scraping, automation, or attempts to bypass payments, boosts, moderation, or platform controls
Moderation and enforcement
Yali may use automated systems and human review to assess posts, images, reports, payments, and account activity.
Yali may review, hide, reject, unpublish, restrict, down-rank, or remove content. Yali may also limit posting privileges, suspend accounts, or terminate access where necessary.
Even if a post has been published or boosted, Yali may still take action later if a violation, complaint, risk, or credibility concern is identified.
Post duration and expiry
Yali is a time-driven platform. Posts are active for a limited duration and may expire automatically after that period.
Owners may repost, renew, close, or reopen posts where applicable. Repeated reposting may be limited or reduced in visibility to protect feed quality.
Paid boosts and fees
Yali may offer paid visibility options such as boosts or featured placement. Payments apply only to platform visibility services, not to buying or selling items.
Payments do not guarantee engagement, messages, successful transactions, or outcomes. Payments may be non-refundable once the visibility service has been activated, except where required by law or stated in the Refund Policy.
User interactions and safety
Users are responsible for their own decisions when contacting others, meeting, inspecting, collecting, delivering, exchanging, or paying for items.
Yali recommends verifying details carefully, meeting safely, inspecting items before exchange, and avoiding unnecessary sharing of private information.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you lawfully submit. By posting to Yali, you grant Yali a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, distribute, moderate, promote, and improve the service using that content.
Privacy and service data
Yali may collect and use account details, verification information, usage events, device or request metadata, moderation signals, payment references, and report records to operate, secure, improve, and enforce the platform.

Reporting and complaints
Users may report content, behavior, or accounts that appear unsafe, illegal, misleading, abusive, or inappropriate.
Repeated false reporting, malicious complaints, or abuse of reporting tools may lead to restrictions.
Suspension and termination
Yali may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to any account or post if Terms are violated, the account appears risky or abusive, a payment issue creates risk, or continued access harms platform safety or integrity.
No warranties
Yali is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Yali does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, error-free operation, successful outcomes, or the quality, legality, safety, or authenticity of user-posted content.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yali and its owners, operators, staff, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of business, revenue, goodwill, data, opportunities, or expected outcomes.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount paid by you to Yali for the specific affected service in the most recent applicable transaction, to the extent permitted by law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yali and its operators from claims, complaints, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, misuse of the platform, breach of these Terms, violation of law, or disputes with other users.
Changes to these Terms
Yali may update these Terms from time to time. When materially updated, Yali may publish a new version and require users to review or accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any dispute, claim, or matter arising out of Yali, its services, or these Terms shall be subject to applicable legal processes and jurisdiction in Sri Lanka.
Platform communication
Yali may communicate platform notices, warnings, moderation updates, payment updates, and policy changes through in-app notices, notifications, SMS-related workflows, email, or other reasonable channels.
